Our Story

Building a legacy of love and commitment

Danell and Kipp Myers are the owners/operators of Anacréon Winery and Belle Colline Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains, Willamette Valley Oregon.

Slow and Steady - the path to cultivating our vineyards and wines while creating a unique sense of place and home.

Originally from Salt Lake City Utah, Danell and Kipp built a thriving business and raised a family of 6 children together. Having a deeply shared interest in and love for wine, a 2008 trip to the Willamette Valley lit the torch of passion for beginning their dream of owning a vineyard and making wine. Discovering the Willamette Valley which epitomized the spirit of collaboration and community made it the perfect place to plant roots - literally.

Having two children still in high school, in 2014 they began to plan their eventual move to Oregon while still in Utah, beginning with finding the perfect property and vineyard for their future home. In 2016, they purchased what is now Belle Colline Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountain AVA - a truly glorious site - now planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Jumping into the ‘Deep End’

With the intention of being fully immersed in the process of growing grapes and making wine, the Myers both embarked on learning as much as they could through practice (working harvest for other wineries) and through study. Danell attended the Wine Studies Program at Chemeketa Community College, focusing on wine production - while Kipp completed the Viticulture Program at Washington State University, focusing on vine cultivation. Together, they traveled to France to study at the Burgundy Wine School in Beaune. Both Danell and Kipp feel strongly that wine is a lifelong learning process as nature is always changing. This is one of the beauties, and challenges, that they love about what they do.

Creating and executing intimate experiences

Creating and launching their unique seated tasting experiences in 2022 see Danell and Kipp taking on the roles of wine-tasting hosts, in addition to wine producers. While they wait for their Tasting House to be built they will be hosting private seated experiences in their garden and home throughout the year, by appointment. The goal is to develop a true connection with all of their guests, and surprise and delight them while introducing them to the wonderful Anacréon portfolio of wines.

Anacréon, The Name

The winery is named after the prolific Greek poet (582-485 BC). Known for his poems, or ‘anacreontics’ about love and wine, he captured the light and beauty of these elements in an elegant way.

“Men and maids at time of year
The ripe clusters jointly bear
To the press, but in when thrown
They by men are trod alone”

-The Vintage

Sharing this philosophy of love and wine, Danell and Kipp found the perfect name for their winery and the hillside they call home.
